I feel SO fortunate to be teaching what I teach and to have such wonderful students. In Music Composition 2 I have 38 composers – and EVERY single COMPOSER is growing by leaps and bounds and their music is touching, evocative, humorous, emotive, and inCREDible!
Our last composition assignment had to include a modulation (a first for these students!) and a rhythmic or melodic device (retrograde, inversion, diminution, or augmentation). SO – here are two samples – I’ll post more each week.
This first piece is composed by Eric C., in honor of President Kennedy and his speech in regards to flight in space and going to the moon. Click below to hear, “To the Moon.”
The second piece was composed by Caitlin, entitled “Boy in the Green Cap,” inspired by her thoughts of the “Legend of Zelda.”
